Overland Park- Kansas House of Representatives Rep. Ronnie Metsker (R-Overland Park) today announced that he will host a town hall meeting in Mission on February 16th.
The event is open to the public, and marks the first opportunity for citizens to address Metsker in an open forum since the commencement of the 2008 legislative session.
“After spending the last two weeks discovering what obstacles we will face in the upcoming session, I felt it was important to bring back my thoughts to the district and see what direction we want to head,” said Rep. Metsker. “As a resident of the 24th district for 50 years, and as a 5th generation Kansan I understand how important it is for this area to have it's voice represented. That's why this forum will be so helpful. It's important to me. It's personal.
Speaker of the House Melvin Neufeld (R-Ingalls) highlighted the importance of Rep. Metsker's leadership in the upcoming session.
“Rep. Metsker is one member that has made a great commitment to staying connected to his district,” said Rep. Neufeld. “He understands that ultimately a leader will be judged on his ability to connect with those he represents and remain committed to their goals, which has served him well in the House of Representatives.”
The event will be held at the Lucky Brewgrille, 5401 Johnson Drive in Mission. It will begin at 8:30 and is open to all residents. Complimentary coffee and pastries will be provided.
Rep. Metsker serves on committees for Commerce and Labor, Election and Government Organization, as well as Transportation.
He has served in the Kansas House since December 2006.
The 24th District represents the northeast portion of Johnson County Kansas.
