Kansas State Representative Ronnie Metsker, District 24, will honor the National Championship Shawnee Mission North High School NJROTC Drill Team and Honor Guard in the State Capitol today as the groups’ color guard carries the colors to start the House floor session at 9 AM today.
Rep. Metsker will introduce representatives of the championship drill squad with a brief speech on the floor of the House.
Later the Team will perform on the Capitol’s South Apron for all the legislators, Capitol staff and other guests.
The introduction will include some of the awards and accolades earned by the team in recent National Drill competition held in Florida .
Of special note is that Rep. Metsker is a 1968 graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School and the Distinguished Alum of 2001.
