Topeka – Kansas Speaker of the House of Representatives Melvin Neufeld (R-Ingalls) announced today he has appointed Rep. Ronnie Metsker ( R-Overland Park ) to the 2007 Financial Institutions and Insurance Interim Committee.
“Rep. Metsker’s service on the House Health and Human Services Committee during his first session gives him a solid understanding of the health care issues facing our state that will serve the interim committee well,” Speaker Neufeld said. “This appointment also will provide a great opportunity for him to broaden his legislative knowledge on issues important to him and those he serves.”
The nine-member committee will meet six times between now and the next session to study:
- Regulation of Credit Unions
- Health Care Tax Credits and Benefits
Rep. Metsker represents the 24th District which includes the cities of Mission and parts of Overland Park and Roeland Park . He serves on the House Health and Human Services; Commerce and Labor and Elections and Governmental Organization Committees.
